Been to Green Dirt Farm Before? Here’s Why You’ll Want to Go Back

April 4, 2026

With more indoor seating, a more approachable menu, house-made sheep’s milk soft serve, and a refreshed dining experience, Green Dirt Farm is giving visitors a fresh reason to make it part of their next Weston day trip.

If it’s been a while since you’ve stopped by Green Dirt Farm, now might be a good time to go back.

The longtime Weston destination has reopened with a refreshed restaurant experience designed to be more comfortable, more dependable, and more appealing for both first-time visitors and returning fans.

That includes about 50 seats indoors, updated menu options, more draft beer, and one standout addition that’s likely to get plenty of attention: house-made sheep’s milk soft serve.

For visitors making a day trip to Weston, the changes are meant to make Green Dirt an easier stop to build into the day — whether the weather cooperates or not.

Oscar Arevalo, who now directs the restaurants, said one of the big goals was creating a space that works better even when tourism is slower or the weather turns bad. The new indoor seating gives guests more room to settle in, rain or shine.

The menu has changed, too.

Instead of leaning only into special-occasion fare, Green Dirt has worked to create something that feels a little more approachable for casual lunch visitors.

Guests can now order items like a lamb burger with fries or a side salad, and Arevalo said prices on many core menu items were lowered slightly to improve value while still elevating quality.

That balance — better quality at a friendlier price point — shows up across the menu.

Green Dirt is now making its own fries, using house bread from the restaurant’s Kansas City operation for items like burger buns, baguettes, and sourdough, and serving more of its own lamb in dishes like the lamb burger and lamb rib special. Even the seasoning on the fries has a farm twist: dehydrated cheese powder.

Then there’s the soft serve.

One of the biggest changes is the switch from purchased ice cream to sheep’s milk soft serve made in-house.

Arevalo said the change allows Green Dirt to offer a more distinctive treat at a lower price than before — and it gives visitors one more reason to stop in, even if they’re just looking for a snack or dessert during a day in Weston.

For Margaret and Leroy Krogmann of Holton, Kansas, the stop was a first. Though they had seen Green Dirt products in stores and visit Weston often, they had never eaten at the farm before.

The couple also gave the updated menu a thumbs up.

“We like the lamb burgers,” Margaret said. “They’re great.”

The refresh goes beyond the menu. Green Dirt has also restored its draft beer cooler, added a professional kitchen setup, upgraded dishwashing capacity to reduce disposables, and added a pergola outside that could eventually host musical acts during the summer months.

The restaurant is also opening earlier than before, now welcoming guests at 10 a.m. Green Dirt is currently open Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Hours run until 4 p.m. on Mondays, Thursdays, and Sundays, and until 6 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.

Arevalo said the goal is to be dependable and not close early just because the weather is bad.

With a refreshed menu, more indoor seating, and a few new signature offerings, Green Dirt Farm is entering its next chapter with an eye toward better value, higher quality, and a more welcoming stop for your next trip to Weston.
